Who we are, what this site is for, and how it pays for itself.
Power Your Roof is an independent title about solar basics, batteries, bills & tariffs. It exists because most writing on this subject is either too shallow to act on or written to sell something, and there is room in between for work that simply explains how things are.
What we cover
The site is organised into 5 sections:
- Solar Basics — Panels, orientation, shading and what a quoted figure really means.
- Batteries — Storage chemistry, cycles and whether a battery pays for itself.
- Bills & Tariffs — Import, export and time-of-use — the pricing that decides the payback.
- Installation — Roofs, inverters, permissions and what goes wrong on the day.
- Efficiency — The unglamorous measures that beat generation on cost per unit saved.
Household energy generation and consumption. Not general household money. Keeping the remit narrow is deliberate; a title that covers everything covers nothing well.
How we work
Our standard is simple: a piece should be accurate, it should be complete enough to act on, and it should be honest about its own limits. An article that leaves out the awkward part is not finished.

How this site is funded
We pay for this with advertising. It is worth being plain about what that does and does not mean — advertisers have no say in the editorial, they see nothing before you do, and no article here is paid placement. Anything that ever is will say so at the top.
Who publishes it
Power Your Roof is published by Khandelwal Publishing House, a business owned and run by Vivek Khandelwal, registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It has been publishing since 2022.
